THE ENTREPRENEUR BEHIND ALTOR LIFE SCIENCES
Altor Life Sciences is the realization of a dream that took root in 2016, when a 21-year-old undergraduate student in Biomedical Sciences, Mr. Chirag V. Molia, identified a critical gap in India’s biopharmaceutical ecosystem. While most of his peers were focused on exams and grades, Mr. Molia envisioned something more — a company built on the pillars of innovation, affordability, and quality healthcare for all.
With no mentor and little external guidance, Mr. Molia began his journey by immersing himself in pharmaceutical texts and online resources. But he soon recognized that theory alone wouldn't suffice — hands-on lab experience was crucial. Driven by this realization, he pursued an M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences in 2017, where he worked extensively with MDCK cell lines, deepening his expertise in cell culture and upstream bioprocessing.
FOUNDATION IN INDUSTRY: LEARNING BY DOING
In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, Mr. Molia took a pivotal step by joining a pharmaceutical manufacturing company as a Microbiological Chemist. Over the next year, he gained comprehensive, hands-on exposure by rotating across departments — from QC and QA to formulation, microbiology, documentation, manufacturing, utilities, stores, and IPQA — gaining an end-to-end understanding of pharmaceutical operations.
To complete his foundation, Mr. Molia entered the commercial side of the industry in 2021, working as a Medical Representative. Over eight months in the field, he developed a ground-level understanding of customer behavior, a doctor engagement, and market dynamics — insights that would later shape Altor’s go-to-market strategies.


THE BIRTH OF ALTOR LIFE SCIENCES
On May 17, 2022, Altor Life Sciences was officially founded with a 12-product portfolio. From day one, the company’s focus was clear:

- Stepwise, sustainable expansion
What began as a modest venture has rapidly grown. Today, Altor operates in three states — Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Assam — with an expanding portfolio of 34 products across six key therapeutic areas: Orthopedics, Pain Management, Dermatology, Antibiotics, Gastroenterology, and Respiratory.
Altor’s strategy was deliberate: start with fast-moving generics to build market trust and revenue, then transition into high-margin specialty products in super-specialties like dermatology and orthopedics. This approach has enabled the company to scale sustainably while staying true to its founding principles.
